Erik has successfully demonstrated skills in evaluating regulatory and contract matters, client advocacy, developing client relationships and management. We place a strong emphasis on welcoming residents with disabilities, though our residents form a true mosaic of life, from all cultures and walks of life. We are a family; one that exists to help residents realize for themselves the potential within themselves and their lives after addiction. Erik brings a special interest in the substance use disorder field. With a deeply held belief that long-term recovery is both life-saving and attainable for our clients, Erik will bring his compassion and dedication to bear in this role. Erik brings significant experience in human services, non-profit management, and general legal practice to New Beginning Recovery.

He is also treasurer for the Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery. Mary-Kate believes in a holistic approach towards helping clients achieve long-term sobriety, and is thrilled to continue on her path in working in recovery with the Granada team. Prior to joining New Beginning Recovery, Erik practiced law in Connecticut and Massachusetts in a sole proprietorship and within firms. Having worked intermittently in human services since 2003, Erik has a proven record of commitment to upholding client rights, dignity; and furthering service coordination and support.

  4. Joe brings almost 30 years of experience in the Substance Abuse treatment field to New Beginning Recovery, covering a wide range of expertise.
  5. After that, Joe went to work as Program Director of Sullivan House, a 24-bed recovery home for men which is part of Middlesex Human Service Agency.
  6. Mary-Kate believes in a holistic approach towards helping clients achieve long-term sobriety, and is thrilled to continue on her path in working in recovery with the Granada team.

Ky has a passion for helping others through an objective and direct approach. They believe having a stable living environment is vital to early sobriety. Ky helps create a welcoming environment here at New Beginning Recovery through their intake process and making sure each resident feels seen and welcomed. Joe has also been involved in many substance abuse treatment related organizations in the community. He currently serves as president of the Massachusetts Association of Alcohol and Drug Counselors.

REFERRAL FORMS

Mary-Kate has always felt passionate about taking care of others, and spreading the knowledge of self-care. When space becomes available, the Case Manager will be informed of the date/time of intake. To start the referral process, Case Managers will need to send our team a completed New Beginning Recovery Referral Form, Bio Psych Social, and Medication List. There is a moment when a person decides that they, too, are ready to live a truly productive life. When they are willing to move beyond what they’ve known to a life in which they can act with confidence, live with assurance, dream of the road that lies ahead.

He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.

Joe brings almost 30 years of experience in the Substance Abuse treatment field to New Beginning Recovery, covering a wide range of expertise. His first full-time position was at New Beginning Recovery in Boston as Business Manager. Prior to that, he was working in the accounting department of Badger Engineers, a subsidiary of Raytheon. He makes sure everyone is comforted during their counseling sessions. Mary-Kate comes to the Granada House with a wealth of management as well as life experience.

After that, Joe went to work as Program Director of Sullivan House, a 24-bed recovery home for men which is part of Middlesex Human Service Agency. During this time, New Beginning Recovery transitioned from its longtime home in the South End to a new facility in lower Roxbury. Since 2011, he has also held a position as an instructor in the Alcohol Counselor Education Program at UMass Boston. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District.
